• DO lace up all the way. This is especially important while breaking in new boots to ensure the tongue stays correctly aligned for maximum comfort.

  • DO clean your boots regularly with Nikwax Cleaning Gel.

  • DO Regularly Re-waterproof your boots with the Nikwax waterproofing product suitable for the material of your boots.

  • DO regularly treat your boots with Nikwax Conditioner for Leather to prevent the leather from drying out.

  • DO NOT dry your boots directly in front of the fire or artificial heat source. If it’s too hot for your hand to be there, it’s too hot for the leather.

  • DO NOT subject your boots to strong chemicals e.g. animal waste, petroleum products, or agri chemicals. If you do, make sure you clean them thoroughly afterwards.

  • DO NOT use products not designed for leather to condition your boots. For instance, olive oil will encourage bacterial growth and mould to build up on leather boots.

  • *BOOT HACK* if you stuff your boots with scrunched up dry newspaper and set them back from the heat they’ll dry faster without getting scalded.
